Elite & Performance Jags can re-flash the engine management unit in your
diesel Jaguar to offer increased performance and better fuel economy, these
performance ‘tunes’ have all been fully tested and meet all of the UK mot requirements.
They are a drive in drive out service, programming of your ECU takes around one hour,
we can normally accommodate this service as a while you wait job if booked in advance,
of course we can drop you into the local town for a bit of shopping as well, including
getting your vehicle into the workshop and all hooked up the whole process should
not take longer than two hours.
A few of the frequently asked questions are listed below along with some of the benefits
of the performance tune, also shown are the dyno graph results for the X-Type 2.0

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do the manufacturers limit the power output of their engines?
The standard manufacturer tune is a compromise of hundreds of factors. Most of all
the manufacturer has to ensure a high degree of engine reliability across the worldwide
market taking into account factors such as:
Differing service schedules
Different operating environments
Local legislation for power and emissions output
During testing, manufacturers ‘tweak’ the tunes constantly to achieve the required
results for individual tests, this compromises the overall smoothness of the original
tune. EAPJ Performance Tunes are optimised for European driving conditions. As long
as the manufacturers service schedule is adhered to there is no reason why this extra
power can not be ‘unlocked’.
How will the emissions be affected?
All EAPJ Performance Tunes are tested to ensure that they comply with UK emissions
Is the tuning process reversible?
Yes. In the unlikely event that you require the EAPJ Performance Tune to be removed,
the process can be reversed without any side effects.
Are there any physical changes to the vehicle?
No. EAPJ Performance Tunes are ECM software downloads only. There will be no physical
evidence that the engine has been uprated.
Are there any insurance implications?
Yes. Most insurance companies require you to notify them of any modifications to
your vehicle. This includes modifications such as bodykits and different alloy wheels.
Some insurance companies will add a premium to your policy, others will not. EAPJ
Performance Tunes are invisible and it is impossible to detect that the engine tune
data has been modified.
